Crime Update
Through the month of September, over the Charnwood area, there have been 6 Burglaries.
4 have been in Syston, 1 in Thurmaston and 1 in East Goscote.
7 vehicles have been stolen.
2 from Syston, 2 from Thurmaston, 1 from East Goscote and 2 from Queniborough.
There have also been a number of vehicles broken into and items stolen.
This occurred in Syston, Thurmaston, East Goscote and Rearsby

Neighbourhood Link Update
Here is a update on neighbourhood policing in Syston, Thurmaston and surrounding villages.
What have the neighbourhood team been doing?
- High Visibility/Reassurance Patrols – in our 'hot spot' areas
- After a member of public raised their concerns about a suspicious vehicle, PC 1651 was able to locate the stolen vehicle and it was then recovered for further investigation.

Flood update for Wednesday 2 October - 9am
There are two Environment Agency flood warnings and three flood alerts in place affecting the Charnwood area.
Flood warnings mean flooding is expected in those areas. Flood alerts mean it is possible.

Burglary/ Theft
Over the past month we have had a Burglary in Syston, two in Thurmaston and one in East Goscote.
These have all been residential properties.
Please make sure your doors and windows are locked and leave a light on when you are out, preferably one on a timer to give the appearance of someone being home.

Property Flood Resilience Repair Grant available to flood-affected residents in Charnwood
The Property Flood Resilience Repair Grant is currently available to residents in Charnwood whose property experienced internally flooding between 19 October – 25 October, 2023 or 2 January – 12 January, 2024.
You can receive a grant of up to £5,000 which must be used on making the property less vulnerable or better recoverable should flooding occur in the future.

Environment Agency launches Flood Warning Service in Charnwood
A new flood warning service is set to be launched by the Environment Agency in three areas of Charnwood.
The new service will cover a total of 671 properties in the following areas:
- Barkby Brook at Syston
- Rearsby Brook at Rearsby
- Sileby Brook at Sileby
Residents in these areas will be able to sign up for specific alerts from the Environment Agency should flooding occur.
